This advanced course of instruction continues to build on the skills learned in the Basic Life Support (BLS) course. Students will be taught a myriad of healthcare provider skills. It focuses on forward-thinking mechanics of both single, and multi responder performance. Clear, concise, relevant, and effective communication techniques are taught from real world examples and instructor experiences.

The healthcare provider will gain the skills in the identification and management of cardiopulmonary, stroke, and airway, emergencies.

The training they receive will give them the self confidence, knowledge and skills to react to, and take charge of, a life threatening situation.

  • Recognition and early management of both Cardiac and respiratory arrest

Heartsaver® First Aid explains what to do in the critical moments before emergency medical services (EMS) arrive. Here you will learn from the very beginning what to expect and how to function in the most appropriate way for the best possible out come for your patient. Designed for the lay person, this course breaks down the very basic components for dealing with injuries to includes bleeding, sprains, fractures, dislocations, splinting, burns, head injuries, environmental situations, stings, bites, and penetrating trauma.

The course teaches students how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. This course is designed to meet OSHA requirements for blood-borne pathogens training. This class is for those people who are at risk of exposure to blood and other bodily fluids during the discharge of their occupation. The content teaches how blood-borne pathogens are spread, how to avert exposure and how to respond and contend with an exposure.

This is a OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard course. Upon completion, graduates speak with their employer about the specific procedures and policies in their work place. Those who complete the training receive a Bloodborne Pathogens Training certification valid for one year.

Upon completion of this course students be proficient in the following:

  • Define bloodborne pathogens
  • The four primary steps for staying safe during an occupational exposure
  • Universal precautions, hand washing, and personal protective equipment (PPE), protect them from contagion
  • Recognize biohazard warning labels and signs
  • Safe removal of gloves
  • How to dispose of sharps and other blood-containing items
  • Identify the types of spills and methods to clean them
  • Discuss their exposure control plan

In this course you will perform skill practice and testing, high quality CPR, provide appropriate ventilation’s with a bag valve mask, (BVM), and early use of an AED. Chocking for the adult, child and infant will also be covered. During this interactive class, each student is encouraged to ask questions and will demonstrate learned skills and knowledge. At the end of this course there will be a test that will help reinforce the students self confidence in his or her newly acquired cognitive and firsthand skill set.

  • Importance of teams during CPR

Your Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course will be Instructor-led and uses a series of videos, lectures, and interactive live action simulated pediatric emergencies to enrich your training. The latest resuscitation science will be taught to thoroughly equip you to provide the best quality care for your patient. Your instructors will use there own knowledge and experience to educate you on the objectives of raising the quality of care to the ailing or injured child so as to result in an enhanced outcome. Students will grow and learn from each other as robust post simulation reviews are held.

The Heartsaver® course is a series of basic classes designed for the lay person. No prior medical training is required. Our “common sense” approach is designed to take away the mystery of complicated medical terminology and demystify Each separate course covers a different subject matter. These course can be combine to create a single class with a much broader base of knowledge.

The 3 course cover the following topics:

  • CPR, AED, and Choking (Child and Adult)
  • First Aid
  • Bloodborne pathogens

Heartsaver® CPR, AED, and Choking explains what to do in the critical moments before emergency medical services (EMS) arrive. Designed for the lay person, this course breaks down the very basic components for dealing with choking, heart attack, and using any AED. Each student will be hands on for each phase activity of the class.

At the end of the class, each student will be given an aha Heartsaver® card good for 2 years.

While CPR is a critical lifesaving skill, it is also a perishable skill. If you are certified through our company you may, at any time before your certification expires, come to any established general class if there is room available for free in order to practice your skills.
